Art is a Mirror
Jeremie Giles painted 72 portraits of posthumous Canadian artists that he considers to have been the most influential over the past two centuries of Canadian art. He called this project "Art Is a Mirror" because he believes that a country's identity is reflected in the work of its artists. The art work includes Giles representations of the artists' work along with his portraits. These portraits were exhibited at Bothwell School in Surrey, B.C. The program will generate discussion about the value of the arts and the need to raise awareness about Canadian artists.
