Impératif culturel — Willie Ermine
Willie J. Ermine, M. Ed., a été professeur adjoint à l’Université des Premières Nations du Canada. Il est originaire de la Première Nation de Sturgeon Lake, dans le centre-nord de la Saskatchewan, où il vit avec sa famille. En tant que membre du corps professoral de l’Université des Premières Nations du Canada, il a présenté des conférences dans les domaines de l’éducation, des sciences humaines, des études autochtones et des méthodes de recherche. Il a publié de nombreux articles universitaires et a contribué aux rapports du groupe des trois Conseils en éthique de la recherche. Il a participé à titre de présentateur à de multiples conférences et symposiums nationaux et internationaux sur des sujets tels que l’éducation, la recherche et, en particulier, la nature de la pensée autochtone. Tout au long de ses recherches, le professeur Ermine a beaucoup travaillé avec les Aînés. Il fait la promotion des pratiques éthiques de recherche impliquant les peuples autochtones et s’intéresse particulièrement au développement conceptuel de l’« espace éthique », un espace théorique entre les cultures et les visions du monde.
