Cause and Effluent: Ecological Options for Garbage, Manure and Sewage

Using Canadian case studies, this program explores a variety of ecological technologies and strategies for waste treatment in rural and urban areas. Examples include an organic beef farm in Ontario that uses manure composting; two schools, one remote and one urban, which use different methods of wastewater treatment; and, a factory that reduced its energy use and waste production dramatically. This program lends itself to discussion about cause and effect as related to waste management issues.
