Street gang activity is on the rise across the country. While some people fear for their lives, others wonder where the gangs will strike next. This program explores the issue of Canadian street gangs from an Aboriginal perspective. How are gang members recruited? What role do females play in the gang lifestyle? Is it true that the only option for a gang member is death or life in prison? What are the factors that create an imbalance of power within a culture/society? With insights from current and former gang members, Illusions looks at gang culture and lifestyle with language that is appropriate for use in public high school settings.
