Migration with Jane Ash Poitras

Jane Ash Poitras, a renowned Dene/Cree artist travels in Alberta; demonstrating her colourful artwork and discussing her roots, the importance of a positive relationship with the environment, First Nations spirituality, and history. Beginning in the Milk River Valley, Jane photographs ancient petroglyphs and geological formations. In early winter, she returns to her birthplace, Fort Chipewyan, and re-connects with the land and the spirit of her people. Back in her Edmonton studio, she combines paint with the photographs and numerous found objects of her travels into artworks.
