Stories of The North - At the Trapline

Stories of the North” features “Mooshom” (played by Morris Cook) and his granddaughters “Natanis” and “Sekwan” (played by Claire Walker and Mya Hoskins-Fiddler) and their life in Saskatchewan’s north. Set in Moshom’s cabin, he tells stories, in animated sequences, about his childhood, and teaching a new word in Cree after each story line. In each episode Natanis and Sekwan end up learning 10 new words in Cree and a little bit more about their grandfather’s life as a child. Part live action, part animation, this children's series of short Indigenous language-based stories uses common events and themes of the North, presented in the oral story telling traditional, with Mooshum teaching Cree words to his granddaughters in the process. Season 1 includes 10 episodes.
