The Cora Player
Series: African Rhythms
This program provides an example of visual storytelling where viewers construct meaning through images, rather than relying on dialogue. The story is of a young couple in love. Difficulties in their relationship arise due to differences in social class and acceptance within each other's family. Multiple viewings deepen understanding of the story and follow-up discussions may extend students' understanding of other topics including religion, race and skin colour.
