Autism Videoconference with Dr. Temple Grandin, Part 2
This is part two of a two-part program. On January 16, 1996, Saskatchewan Learning's Special Education Unit hosted a conference on autism. The conference featured a presentation by Dr. Temple Grandin, an adult with autism who has a highly successful career. Dr. Grandin spoke via closed-circuit television transmission from Fort Collins, Colorado to video audiences in Regina and Saskatoon. In the presentation, Dr. Grandin discusses her experiences as a child growing up with autism. She also addresses some of the personal adaptations that she has made in order to cope with the world. A question-and-answer session with the teleconference audiences follows her talk. She is now a professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University and has gained world-wide recognition for the livestock-handling systems that she has designed.
