Traditional Teachings Part 1. Saulteaux and Cree First Nations Traditions and the Story of the Creator's Flame
This series captures the knowledge, worldviews and experiences of seven Elders and a Knowledge Keeper who are members of Saskatchewan's Cree, Dakota, Dene, Nakota and Saulteaux First Nations. They share their wisdom regarding the cultural practices, laws, and traditional values surrounding the sexual maturation of First Nations children to young adulthood. It was created as a resource for educators and others to use as they support youth to make positive lifestyle choices for their sexual and reproductive health. All these cultures emphasize the importance of respect - respect for self, others, land, universe and all living things.
